Conference Announcement: ICT4Ag International Conference, 4-8 November 2013 in Kigali, Rwanda

Interested in finding out more about the future of information and communication technologies, also known as ICTs, in agriculture?  You may be interested in the upcoming ICT4Ag International Conference!  The conference is scheduled to be held 4-8 November 2013 in Kigali, Rwanda; furthermore, the conference event will be hosted by both The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the Rwandan Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI).

While the conference program is currently being developed (with updates being readily available via the program website), an outline of the expected programme agenda is already available.  Events include a "Plug and Play Day," where attendees can discover various innovations, from m-apps to web 2.0 or social media pro, in an informative and informal environment. 

The main conference will last from 5-7 of November, with sessions ranging from "Emerging Innovations in ICTs Supporting ARD" to "Enabling environments for the Agricultural Sector to maximize the benefits from ICTs."  Plenary sessions will also be available; furthermore, an award ceremony will occur on 7 November, and additional field visits are expected to be held on 8 November. 

The conference program website notes "The ICT4Ag Conference promises to be a highly interactive event that will provide an engaging platform for participants to showcase their experiences in agriculture and information communication technologies; share their knowledge; and learn from each other," and it looks to be a promising event for any and all of those interested.
